Today's Cajuns
Today's Cajuns though assimilated into the modern American culture, still maintain many of their customs and continue to live as a close-knit group of predominately Catholic faith. Many still farm the land their ancestors did, while others have moved into the diverse workforce of Louisiana. Though the language has nearly died out in some areas, a Cajun dialect is still spoken by the "old timers" and their children, and some French Immersion schools teach the Cajun dialect to its students.
